Letter to the Editor
Tom McClintock, our Congressional representative, has recently been touting a bill passed by
the House that he sponsored. The bill prohibits members of Hamas involved in the October 7
Israeli massacre from entering the US. What? Is this a real problem worthy of his time and
energy? How is this a problem needing a solution? How is this a real issue relevant to his
constituents?
It seems to me Mr. McClintock’s time and energy could be better spent addressing real
problems, issues facing his constituents like the rising costs of food and clothing, rent, and
health care insurance to name a few. Or the new $100/person fee charged to foreign visitors to Yosemite. Talk with businesses along the Highway 120 corridor that rely on the tourist trade and how that will affect them.
Come to Tuolumne County, Mr. McClintock. Talk to us. Learn about the economic challenges
facing your constituents. Check the current prices of butter, eggs, cereal or flour. Or rent.
Please focus on sponsoring or supporting legislation providing solutions to these real problems your constituents face each day.
