Mental Health Resources for the Tuolumne County Homeless Population

According to an article published by the Center for Healthcare Strategies in March 2025, 19% of Tuolumne County residents struggled to access acceptable housing in 2023, a rate that increased by 6.5% in 2024. Tuolumne County has several organizations that provide services to unhoused mentally ill and/or addicted individuals.
2-1-1 Tuolumne County Enrichment Center offers peer support for adult (18+) Tuolumne County residents with mental health and addiction issues. Those experiencing homelessness and people who were formerly incarcerated can learn about available services. Shower and laundry facilities are available by appointment.
Resiliency Village supports Tuolumne County families and individuals with a place to stay, help for parents, and assistance with setting career goals and getting job training. They aim to create a “compassionate community.” Growing produce on the Resiliency Village property helps residents recover from the effects of homelessness and trauma.
The Mathiesen Memorial Health Clinic is operated by the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California. Their Red Feather Clinic provides addiction care, advocacy, referrals, behavioral health counseling, and acupuncture treatment for addiction and mental health issues. The Health Clinic offers primary care and behavioral health services, dentistry, as well as free yoga classes for patients.
The Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency has a wide variety of programs for individuals and families who need housing, food, and medical care. Their food bank, temporary shelter for homeless families and individuals, and homelessness prevention programs, such as help with paying utility bills, have been a staple of the community since 1981.
Tuolumne County Behavioral Health provides resources for addiction care, mental health support, suicide awareness, and an online health library.
