Make Your Voice Heard by June 2

In the June 2 Primary Election, Tuolumne County voters will decide contested races for District 2 and District 3 Supervisors and County Superintendent of Schools. These are the people who will influence our daily lives for years to come. Your vote is your voice. Use it to speak loudly. (For detailed information on voting in Tuolumne County, visit Courage California.)
Option A — Vote by Mail
Every registered voter should have received a ballot by mail. Fill it out at home, sign the return envelope, and send it back. It must be postmarked by June 2 and received at the county Elections Office by June 5. You must request a hand-stamped postmark if delivering your ballot to a post office within the county on June 2, since mail is typically transported to Sacramento for a postmark.
Be sure to sign the return envelope. Unsigned ballots are not counted. Your signature will be compared to your voter registration record. If there’s an issue, the Elections Office will contact you by mail, phone, or email, and you’ll have a chance to fix it before officials certify the election results.
Option B — Ballot Drop Boxes
Tuolumne County has 10 ballot drop box locations where you can securely deliver your ballot. Ballots are retrieved daily and transported directly to the Elections Office. It is preferable to use a drop box the closer it gets to Election Day to avoid potential postmark problems. Drop boxes close at 8:00 p.m. on June 2.
Option C — Vote in Person at a Vote Center
No ID required. All Vote Center locations are open through June 2. You can vote at any Vote Center in the county.
Provisional Ballot
If you experience any problems voting in person, you can cast a provisional ballot. It will be counted once officials confirm you are registered and have not already voted. Voters displaced by wildfire or extreme weather may also need to ask for a provisional ballot.
Track Your Ballot
BallotTrax is an online platform where you can track your ballot’s status from mailing through counting, with alerts by email, text, or voice call. BallotTrax tracks the envelope, not your vote — your ballot stays confidential. Follow the instructions on the website to sign up. No computer? Call (209) 533-5570, and the Elections Office can enroll you for voice call notifications.
