It’s only natural that creative people would gather in Tuolumne County, with its gorgeous landscapes, rich history, and quirky folks! Interested in arts and creativity? We have lots of resources in the area to get your creative on!

Tuolumne County Arts (TCA): With an office at 21 N. Washington St. in Sonora and a studio at the Dome on Beretta St., TCA offers opportunities for artists to learn new skills, stock up on art supplies, and learn about local artists. They offer the Revamp Creative Reuse Store, a kids’ summer arts camp in July, and art classes. Find out more at their website: https://www.mytuolumnecountyarts.org/

In July and August 2026, TCA will host the traveling art exhibit From Here to There, a seven-county traveling art show presented by the Sierra Seven Arts Alliance.

Sonora Arts: An art studio at 14675 Mono Way offering arts and crafts classes in clay, painting, and mixed media, as well as studio space for artists. http://sonoraarts.com/

Motherlode Art Association (MLAA): Supporting arts and the appreciation of the arts in the community, the MLAA offers an annual juried show benefiting art programs in local schools, art parties, monthly meetings, art demos and classes, and an “Arts in Education” grant program. https://www.mlaa.org/

Aloft Art Gallery: The gallery at 105 S. Washington St. presents and sells the works of local artists in many different media, as well as supporting a springtime arts festival and holding a bi-monthly figure-drawing class. https://www.aloftartgallery.com
